Auburn takes shot at Alabama with new 'State of Auburn' shirt (Photo)

This won’t make Alabama fans very happy.

Before Auburn’s game at Ole Miss, Tigers wide receiver Sammie Coates wore a t-shirt that says “State of Auburn” on top of an outline of the state of Alabama featuring the school’s orange, blue and white colors. The photo below was tweeted out by Auburn co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach Dameyune Craig.

As of now, according to Al.com, the t-shirts are only available to “those in the (Auburn) athletic department,” but War Blogle tweeted that the shirts could become available publicly for fans to buy this week.

The message it sends to its in-state rival is loud and clear: Auburn thinks it’s the best football program in the state and it doesn’t care who knows.

This will certainly rile things up with the Iron Bowl less than a month away on Nov. 29 in Tuscaloosa.

The Tigers, now 7-1, were ranked third in the first College Football Playoff poll. Alabama, also 7-1, was ranked No. 6. The updated rankings will be unveiled Tuesday night.
